North Face Tom WallischThe North Face, one of the most recognized global outdoor brands, has been honored by the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and SnowSports Industries America (SIA) for its work with the new Olympic sport of freeskiing.

The company received the 2014 Doc DesRoches Award for its integration of the U.S. Freeskiing brand and its top athletes into its marketing campaigns, as well as for its grassroots support of the sport.

The North Face has been a partner of USSA since 2011. A highlight of the brand campaign was, The Rise, showcasing athletes and the sport at its locations across the country. The award was presented during the Opening Day of the 2014 SIA Snow Show in Denver, Colo.

“The North Face has become an integral part of our U.S. Freeskiing family,” said USSA CEO Bill Marolt. “One of the most significant components of our partnership is what it (The North Face) has done in helping develop athletes through The North Face Park and Pipe Series and the U.S. Freeskiing Rookie Team.”
