Colorado's Steamboat Ski Resort has been selected as the site of the 2015 Induction Ceremony of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, as well as the International Skiing History Association's Skiing History Week April 8-12.
The induction Ceremony honoring the Hall of Fame's Class of 2014 will be held Saturday, April 11, capping off a week of skiing and riding, historical presentations, awards ceremonies and a film festival, which is open to the community.
Skiing History Week and the Hall of Fame induction will also celebrate 100 years of Steamboat's famed Howelson Hill.
The annual Ishpeming Snow 100 Film Festival will highlight some of the best films in skiing history in Steamboat's Chief Theater, open nightly April 8, 9 and 10 to attendees and the community. A presentation on Steamboat legend Buddy Werner will be one of several legacy lectures celebrating the sport's legacy.
Skiing History Week wraps up Sunday, April 12 with an opportunity for First Tracks with Hall of Fame skiers and snowboarders.
Registration for events and tickets to the Hall of Fame induction are available starting Nov. 15 online. Special lodging packages at the Steamboat Grand and lift ticket discounts are available to Skiing History Week registrants.
