Skiing Heritage Week At Vail April 8-15

Skiing Heritage

“50 Years of Mountain Fun and Memories” is the theme of Skiing Heritage Week at Vail, Colo. April 8-14, 2013.

The event, sponsored by the International Skiing History Association and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame, features the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony April 13. Wayne Wong, Jeremy Bloom, Kirsten Clark, Craig Kelly, Horst Abraham, and Hans Geier make up the induction class.

Bernie Weichsel, Hall of Fame chairman says hosting the event at Vail is appropriate as “Bail has witnessed many great milestones in the growth of skiing and snowboarding since its opening in 1962.”

The weeklong event includes parties, film showings, skiing and riding and other events. One key event is the third annual Ishpeming International Film Festival of classic ski movies.

Cost to participate in most of the events is $350 or in all of the events for $595. Accommodations at the Vail Marriott Resort at Lionshead (special event rate of $137 per night plus tax) are available by calling (877) 622-3140.
