Nub’s Nob Picks Up Top Honors From National Ski Patrol

Nubs Nob Ski Patrol Award

The volunteer ski patrol at Nub’s Nob in Harbor Springs, Mich., was recognized with the “Outstanding Large Ski Patrol” honors at the annual meeting of the NSP’s Central Division.

The award is the highest honor given by the NSP. A number of factors are considered when determining the award, including a point system.

A number of Nob’s patrollers earned awards that helped propel the entire patrol to the top. They included Linda “Murph” Jacobs, Fred Bailey, Tom Worley, Don Loerch, and Beach Day.

Nub’s Nob’s Ben Doornbus says the patrol is made up of men and women ranging from college students to retirees. There are paramedics, CEOs, teachers, business owners, computer programmers, bankers and others from a variety of walks of life involved
