Erik Forsell Tabbed As Mammoth Marketing Chief
Erik Forsell has been named Chief Marketing Officer for Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, responsible for all aspects of marketing, including strategy, brand, product development, pricing, distribution, and advertising.
Forsell comes to Mammoth from ASICS America where he oversaw the company’s marketing efforts in the U.S. Canada, and South America and brought the brand to it’s most successful year ever in 2012. His work was recognized with the Cannes Lions Festival and One Show Interactive awards for digital and outdoor marketing campaigns.
He was previously involved in marketing efforts for brands such as O’Neill, Rusty, Lost, Metal Mulisha, among others.
“I look forward to the vision and keen perspective I know he (Forsell) will bring to the marketing team and to the senior leadership of the company,” said Mammoth Chairman and CEO Rusty Gregory.
Forsell and his family have been “Mammoth fans and dedicated snow sports enthusiasts, noting, “Mammoth is a special place to me as well as to millions of Californians.”
He is a graduate of the University of San Diego and holds an MBA in marketing from San Diego State University. Former CMO Howard Pickett has resigned his position, but will continue as an advisor to Forsell.
