Deer Valley Staffers Receive Intermountain Awards

Two Deer Valley Resort mountain operations staff members have been honored by the Intermountain Ski Areas Association (ISAA) during its annual convention held this year at the Utah Resort.


Chuck English, Deer Valley director of mountain operations, was given the Outstanding Contribution Award. English has 40 years of ski industry service on his resume, and has been with Deer Valley since the resort opened. He previously worked at Alta, Utah. He oversees all winter and summer mountain activities.


Richard Olson, resort fleet mechanic, won the Golden Wrench for Vehicle Maintenance. He, too, has been with Deer Valley from the beginning. Olson supervises the resort fleet of more than 300 vehicles and equipment and specializes in the maintenance of the resort’s 16 snocats.


ISSA is an association made up of ski areas in Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
