“Discover Whitewater Backcountry” is designed to offer equipment and knowledge required for safe exploration of the backcountry, including local snowpack analysis and orientation, for those planning on stepping out of the ski area boundary. A beacon training area, avalanche awareness and skill training, and the only youth focused avalanche training in Canada also will be offered.
The resort will host the annual Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Fest Feb. 20-22, 2015, featuring over 30 different clinics both in and out of the resort boundaries.
Fat tire snow biking will be available from the Nordic Centre with rentals and 5 kilometers (about three miles) of multi-use trails for their use.
The Fresh Tracks Café’s kitchen debuts its new ordering system making the process better organized while still offering fresh meals using local products as much as possible.
Spokane shuttle services have been increased to seven days a week, a price reduction and later departure time from Spokane making a same day trip easier.
