WinterKids To Bring Night Skiing To Sugarloaf For First Time In History March 11-12

Winter KidsFor one night only, skiers will have the opportunity to ski under the lights at Sugarloaf as part of the WinterKids Downhill 24. The 24-hour ski challenge fundraiser is March 11-12, 9 a.m. to 9 a.m. WinterKids will set up lights along the Whiffletree trail, allowing for night skiing for the first time in Sugarloaf’s storied history.

Maine's Mt Abram $150,000 Trail Expansion Almost Ready To Launch

Mt AbramMt Abram in western Maine is beginning its largest trail expansion project since the 1970s. The $150,000 construction of six new trails will offer 25 additional acres of skiing and riding. Following final permitting approval within the next two weeks, construction begins immediately for use this winter.

Maine's Mt Abram Installs Solar Array; 'Social Responsibility Expected'

Maine's Mt Abram has begun construction on a photovoltaic solar project. The array is expected to produce in excess of 280,000 kWh annually, offsetting approximately 70 percent of the ski area’s annual electricity consumption.
