It’s the first time a world Cup has been staged at Squaw Valley, Calif. since 1969, but the International Ski Federation has chosen the California High Sierra resort for an Audi FIS Skicross world Cup and FIS Snowboard World Cup March 4-8, 2015.
The International Ski Federation Aspen has awarded the 2017 Alpine World Cup Finals. This marks the first time the event has been held in the U.S. in 20 years. Aspen was selected over Lenzerheide, Switzerland and the mountain nation of Andorra.
The response from the International Ski Federation (FIS) to American superstar racer Lindsey Vonn and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association’s request to allow Vonn to compete against the men in a World Cup downhill came swiftly. “Forget about it.”
