Mikaela Shiffrin won her second straight slalom race of the season Sunday at the Nature Valley Aspen Winternationals World Cup, leaving the rest of the ladies’ ski world wondering if her uncharacteristic edge catch mistake in Friday’s Giant Slalom might be it for the winter. Shiffrin won Sunday by a margin of 2.65 seconds.

The fastest female ski racers in the world take to Aspen Mountain Friday through Sunday, Nov. 27-29 for the Audi FIS World Cups at the Nature Valley Aspen Winternational. Star of the show? Certainly could be -- perhaps should be -- Colorado’s Mikaela Shiffrin in either the Giant Slalom or the two slaloms. Or all three. No pressure there.

Slovenia’s Tina Maze won her second consecutive giant slalom of the season as the Winternationals at Aspen, Colo. jumped off Saturday. American Lindsey Vonn returned to the race course after a 3-day hospitalization last week and finished 21st.
