Westside Six, the brand new, high speed, detachable six passenger chairlift at Windham Mountain Resort is now open. The resort celebrated a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony Dec. 29.

Skiers and riders visiting the resort over the holidays have been taking advantage of the new ride since it opened Dec. 20.

The new Doppelmayr Westside Six gets skiers and snowboarders from the base to the summit of the resort’s west peak in under five and a half minutes with a slope length of 5,105 feet and an uphill capacity of 3,000 people per hour.

“Westside Six will transport the same number of passengers as the old triple chair, and Whirlwind Express, our high-speed quad, combined,” says Ted Davis, Director of Mountain Operations at Windham Mountain Resort.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony, President and General Manager of Windham Mountain Resort, Chip Seamans, thanked employees for their contributions to the project and guests for their support and excitement throughout the installation process. He was joined by Ted Davis, Director of Mountain Operations, Nick Dana, Lift Maintenance & Operations Manager, and several Windham team members to cut the ribbon.

Westside Six was part of an $8M capital investment made by Windham Mountain Resort for the 2018-19 season. Other investments include RFID Lift Access Technology, nearly 100 automated, high-efficiency snow guns, over 2 miles of new snowmaking pipe, and a new PistenBully 400 Snowcat.
