Western Resorts Jump On 49ers Bandwagon Super Sunday

Squaw Valley, Calif.

Western ski resorts are gearing up to give the San Francisco 49ers a boost while giving you the chance to ski and ride before settling into the Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 3).

Squaw Valley wants you to attend what they are calling “THE” viewing party with the biggest TV – 16x21-foot screen - in all of the Sierra at the KT Base Bar. There will be giveaways and promotions all day. It is also a fundraiser for High Fives Foundation, which raises money and awareness for athletes that have suffered a life-altering injury while pursuing their dream in the winter action sports community.

Squaw’s sister resort, Alpine Meadows also will be celebrating with food and drink specials and Super Bowl Squares games from 1-7 p.m. at the Last Chair Bar. Buy a drink, get a square (max two per person) and cheer on your team. Prizes will be awarded at the end of each quarter.

Northstar begins their party at 3 p.m. in a variety of resort locations, all with plenty of big, flat screens. Check out TC’s Pub, Lodge at Big Springs, Tavern 6330’, or Zephyr Lodge.

Mt. Rose Ski Resort is featuring Big Game Online Specials with $49 adult tickets Feb. 3 only. They’re also offering First Time Packages for $49, which include a lesson, beginner specific rental ski/snowboard gear and lift ticket. Rosebud’s Children Camp is celebrating the big game day with a $49 lesson deal for young skiers ages 4-10 and snowboarders 7-10.

Dodge Ridge says, “Go, 49ers” with $49 all day adult and teen lift tickets Feb. 3. Ski or snowboard earlier in the day; then watch the game.

New Mexico’s Taos Resort is starting their celebration at noon with the Bud Bowl Party in the Martini Tree Bar. Catch the football action on a 70-inch TV screen, win door prizes and giveaways, and enjoy beer specials during the game.
