‘Welcome Card’ Gets New XC Skiers On Trails After Equipment Purchase
There won’t be an economic reason to wait to get on the cross country ski trails after purchasing new equipment. Cross Country Ski Areas Association is offering a Welcome Card good for three free visits to any of its 91 member ski areas.
Here’s the deal: Just purchase a package of new entry-level skating or striding cross country ski equipment. Then, head to the trails and ski for free. Three times. Be sure to bring your new equipment with you. Simple as that.
“There's nothing quite as exciting as the thrill of a new purchase but in the case of ski equipment, the real thrill is in the ski experience,” Cross Country Ski Areas Association Executive Director Chris Frado told SnoCountry.com. “So, don't wait a day longer to enjoy the snow under your skis as you glide over the trails at one of almost 100 Nordic centers across the continent honoring the Cross Country Ski Areas Association's Welcome Pass.”
A number of regional retailers, along with L.L. Bean, are providing newbies with the Welcome Card with their purchase.
Regional retailers include Akers Ski, Inc. in Andover, Maine; Vermont stores ORS Direct in Barre, Ski Rack in Burlington, and West Hill Shop in Putney; Michigan’s Cross Country Ski Headquarters in Roscommon, and Cross Country Ski Shop in Grayling.
L.L. Bean is the biggest player, offering their version of the program – Bean’s Nordic Ski Pass with every ski set purchased. You don’t have to be anywhere near the iconic outdoor company’s flagship in Freeport, Maine to take advantage. Purchase online or through the catalog and the shipping is free.
Bean is also offering a free Cross Country Discovery Course at its Outdoor Discovery Schools in Freeport – a $20 value.
