Sun Peaks

United Airlines will begin daily non-stop service between Los Angeles (LAX) and BC’s Kelowna International Airport, the largest airport in the region in time for the new ski season. Service starts Dec. 19, 2012.

British Columbia’s four-season Sun Peaks Resort now offers three airport shuttles from Kelowna, Vancouver, and Kamloops, a well as the five ski resorts of Whistler/Blackcomb, Revelstoke, Silver Star, Big White, and Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing.

“This flight will create easier connections for California-based groups and skiers, and is a new connection alternative for guests coming from Sydney, Australia,” says Tourism Sun Peaks’ Colin Brost.

The new flight on the 66-passenger plane leaves LAX at 6:40 p.m. and arrives at Kelowna at 9:44 p.m. Return flight leaves Kelowna at 8 a.m., arriving at LAX at 10:51 a.m.

Sun Peaks is 45 minutes from Kamloops Airport and 2.5 hours from Kelowna. Vancouver is a 45-minute car drive from the resort.
