Sugar Mountain Adds Intermediate Slope
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort in N.C., offers guests a new intermediate slope named Gunther’s Way this season. The slope features a variety of changing terrain.Gunther’s Way, situated on nine acres, is 150 feet wide and 2,900 feet long with a 700-foot vertical. Ten new snow making machines line the slope to ensure quality snow coverage. The pump house also has been redesigned and rebuilt to accommodate an additional 1,000-gallon per minute vertical water pump.
Another slope has been renamed. The Big Red slope is now Oma’s Meadow which means grandmother in German-speaking countries. This wide and gentle cruiser services NASTAR, junior race series competitions, and the weekly adult race league.
