Stratton Jitney To Offer Premium Motorcoach From New York City; Begins In January
Skiers and riders can travel to Stratton Mountain on the Stratton Jitney beginning in January without having to get behind the wheel.. The premium Ambassador Coach departs from New York City each Friday and returns Sunday evening, allowing guests to enjoy a weekend in Vermont's Green Mountains without the hassle of driving.
The Ambassador coach features extra wide plush seats, Wi-Fi service, complimentary Vermont-made snacks and spacious storage compartments for all ski gear for the approximate four-hour ride.
“Many of our guests who use the Jitney service to the Hamptons in the summer have expressed interest in a shuttle to Stratton, and we’re happy to offer this convenient and comfortable transport to Stratton for the weekend,” Stratton’s Myra Foster told SnoCountry.com.
One way fare is $79 per person and children age two and under ride for free.
Service will begin Jan. 8 and continue through March 27, with Monday returns available on MLK and President’s Day Weekend. Jitney pick-up will be on 44th and 3rd, near Grand Central Station, at 5:45 p.m. each Friday. Two additional stops will be made on the Long Island Expressway en route to Manhattan.
For guests staying in on-mountain accommodations, there is no need for a car to access fine dining and a multitude of retail shops just steps from the base of the mountain. The well-equipped Sports Center and Nordic trail system are also close at hand. Relax after a day of skiing with a massage and manicure at the Village Spa. Kids will love the lift served tubing park and mini-snowmobile tours located at the Sunbowl Activity Zone. Choose from a variety of lodging options within short walking distance to the main base and Village, with many offering convenient shuttle services.
