Stowe’s Spruce Peak To Expand Family Amenities; New Ice Rink, More
Stowe, Vermont’s 10-year development effort at it’s Spruce Peak area will get a decidedly family-flavored makeover starting later this spring. This next phase comes after extensive conversations with homeowners, club member, and guests.A number of new facilities will be built around a new ice rink that, during the summer and fall, will double as a community plaza and green, says Sam Gaines, vice president, Spruce Peak Realty.
Plans call for a new “state-of-the-art” children’s Adventure Center with ski/ride school, year-round day care, and a children’s activity center.
Also planned is a new Stowe Mountain Club Alpine Clubhouse, retail shops, restaurants, food markets and a parking garage just for club members. Membership in the Stowe Moubtain Club starts at $25,000 with annual dues starting at $4,800 depending on chosen amenities such as ski passes, golf, spa and fitness center use, private dining privileges, valet parking storage and Alpine Club access.
“As with everything we do at Stowe Mountain Resort, this new phase will adhere to the development principals that guide the resort and Spruce Peak Realty,” Gaines says. “It’s a collective vision that will serve our families for years to come and will ultimately be a part of the Stowe legacy.”
Construction is expected to begin this spring with a targeted opening date for the 2015-16 season.
