Spring Vibe Rocks The Slopes With Live Music, Sunshine, Soft Snow
Springtime is music time in the mountains and from coast to coast, resorts are rocking in the festive vibe with sunshine, soft snow, warm temperatures, live on-snow concerts, events and festivals.
Crested Butte Mountain Resort kicks off the live music action this weekend with FestEVOL, a two-day celebration of snowsports, mountain lifestyle, live music, innovative natural brands and a sustainability-focused eco-village, featuring live performances from the Barenaked Ladies, Guster, and Big Head Todd and The Monsters. FestEVOL also takes place at Crested Butte’s sister resorts Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont (March 24-25) andMount Sunapee in New Hampshire (March 31-April 1)
“It is our goal to give our FestEVOL attendees a weekend escape where they can enjoy great music, awesome snow and delicious food with their friends and families,” said Andrew Jaffe, EVOL Foods vice president of marketing. “In its second year, FestEVOL is going to be better and more exciting with the music of Barenaked Ladies and Guster.”

SnowBash at Squaw Valley hits the slopes this weekend with an Irish twist, featuring live performances from L.A.vation – DubbedThe World's Greatest Tribute to U2 – and The Blarneys. And of course, the Irish beer will be flowing throughout the Village Plaza.
Spring Break Away rolls into Grand Targhee for 10-days of on-snow events and live music, culminate with the 80's Weekend mountain blow out party March 22 through April 1. So grab your K2 Extreme skis or Burton Performer board and get ready to thrown down Miami Vice style.
In Utah, Canyons Resort hosts the 10-day Spring Gruv with free concerts from Little Feat, John Brown’s Body, Martin Sexton and Orgone in the Resort Village, as well as the famous Pond Skimming Contest and Red Bull Schlittentag.
Killington Resort hosts the SnowMont Music Festival, the largest three day winter music festival in the East, featuring Snoop Dogg, Kaskade and The Flaming Lips March 30 through April 1. More than 40 bands are scheduled to perform on multiple stages throughout the resort area.
The annual Spring Back to Vail hits this world-class ski town April 9-15, featuring live music and the World Pond Skimming Championships at Golden Peak. Vermont’s Grace Potter and the Nocturnals return to Spring Back to Vail by popular demand to kick off the event on Thursday, April 12. The Thievery Corporation (April 13), JJ Grey & Mofro (April 14) and Iration (April 15) are also scheduled to perform on the outdoor stages in Vail Village and Ford Park.
Vermont’s Mount Snow host two great spring events, the Bud Light ReggaeFest March 23-25, and the Fourth Annual Winter Brewers Festival April 7. ReggaeFest features live Reggae Music, Pond Skimming and the Duct Tape Derby, while the Winter Brewers Festival takes up the entire base area and features dozens of New England’s finest brewers pouring late into the afternoon.
Sunsation at Colorado’s Copper Mountain closes out the season April 14-15 with a new twist for this annual event – the CopperMan Winter Race. The event description for this 3K-adventure race is calling all Grizzly Adams and Madams. It’s time to pull yourself up by your long johns and cross “run through a giant pit of hot chocolate” off your bucket list. Best part though, finishing in Center Village where live music, a beer garden and outdoor food await!
