SnoCountry SnoCast: Colorado Snow Taking The Spotlight
With at least three resorts open for skiing and riding this weekend, Colorado is poised for a foot of snow from multiple weather systems.
Western U.S. & Canada
More ski resorts are opening prior to Halloween. Recent announcements include Loveland Ski Area and Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe opening Friday, October 25. Remember to check the very latest open list here on SnoCountry.com.
One quick-hitting snow storm will be leaving Colorado Thursday after providing 6-8” for many mountains along the Front Range. Meanwhile Thursday, another system will bring moderate snow to central British Columbia and Alberta, lasting into Friday. Those Canadian flakes will move across the U.S. Rockies Saturday and Sunday with another helping of 4-8”. Temperatures will be very chilly for much of the West beginning Sunday, lasting through the end of the month.
Eastern U.S. & Canada
The only scary thing about the East’s forecast through Halloween is the scarcity of cold/snowy weather. Don’t get spooked, though. Colder temperatures near the Canadian border should allow for snowmaking Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There may be a few light snow showers during that time too.
After a warmer spell Sunday-Wednesday, the outlook for next weekend is favoring colder weather. Wondering how this winter will be for your favorite resort? The 2019-2020 winter outlook has been released and you can read our SnoCountry.com story here.
