SnoCountry SnoCast: A Couple Of Powerful Storms To Watch
Here comes a nice taste of cold weather for many of us! Some resorts sit in just the right spot for heavy snow accumulations.
Eastern U.S. & Canada
Keep your eyes on two powerful storm systems that’ll move through the East. The first is scheduled for Friday afternoon and night, but it’ll be a heavy wintry mix. The best spots for snow out of this will be far northern New York, northern New England and in Quebec with up to 4-8 inches.
This includes New Hampshire’s Bretton Woods and Wildcat. The storm will produce all rain from Massachusetts, south. Dress warm this weekend! It will be windy and cold with snow showers! The next storm to watch will be Tuesday, the 13th of November. As of this writing, it appears to be a heavy wintry mix with the best potential for snow in northern New England and Canada.
Western U.S. & Canada
A couple of smaller weather systems will provide light snow accumulations this week. Look for British Columbia and Alberta to get 5-10” (12-25 cm) through Friday as low pressure glides down the Rockies. The weather pattern will be good for Banff Sunshine and Lake Louise Ski Resort in Canada.
The same weather system will bring snow showers to Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming on Saturday the 10th with as much as 5-10” of fresh snow. Parts of Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico get in on this Sunday with 4-8 inches. It will be chilly through the weekend, then warmer beginning Monday the 12th. Overnight snowmaking looks good nearly each night.
A special, short section is needed this week for Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan who sit in a nice spot to get 2-4” of snow Friday. It will also stay cold enough to keep any snow around. We’re watching one resort open so far, Wild Mountain in Minnesota.
