SnoCountry's Best Midwest Ziplining
Zipline tours are popular pursuits at ski resorts along the east coast and out west. They are just starting to catch on in the Heartland. Ski resorts in Michigan and Wisconsin are now offering multiple station zipline tours.
In Michigan, Boyne Mountain, Boyne Highlands, Wildwood Rush and Mt. Holiday offer a solid experience of multiple stations and thrilling tours. In Wisconsin there’s Lake Geneva Canopy Tours near Grand Geneva Resort and Trollhaugen’s Zipline Park.
Boyne Mountain’s zipline tour encompasses 4,300 feet with 10 stations and takes up to three hours to complete. Boyne Highlands zipline tour features 8 stations and travels 3,350 feet. The cost is $64 per person for the complete guided tour at either resort.
Wildwood Rush, located near Boyne City a short distance from Boyne Mountain, offers nine stations that cover close to a mile-and-a-half in length and takes about three hours to complete. There are five “sky” bridges connecting the canopy portion of the tour. Jaw-dropping views of Lake Charlevoix can be seen from the tree platforms. The cost for the full guided tour is $75 per person.
Mt. Holiday, located near Traverse City, offers a 10 station zipline tour that covers 4,800 feet and offers breathtaking views of Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse East Bay. It takes about two hours to complete, and the cost is $48 per person.
Lake Geneva Canopy Tours, in the southern part of the Badger State along the Illinois border, takes between two and three hours. The guided tour is in the trees and includes eight stations and five suspension bridges. The cost of the tour is from $89 to $100 per person.
Trollhaugen’s Zipline Park, in northwestern Wisconsin near the Minnesota border, offers six lines from four stations and a two-hour guided tour. The cost runs between $39 and $45.
