Ski Busses To Roll From NYC, Toronto To 19 Resorts Next Winter
“We are very excited about the new ‘I Ski NY Bus’ service to our mountain,” Plattekill’s Laurie Grieco told SnoCountry.com. “We have been in need of this service for some time. This is a huge opportunity for Plattekill to expand our market to the New York metro area. Many would-be customers simply have no means to get here and this could substantially help grow our business.”
Empire State Development President, CEO and Commissioner Kenneth Adams said, "Winter tourism is big business in New York State and the ‘I Ski NY Bus’ will make it even easier to enjoy some of the nation's best winter recreational activities and attractions.”
The state, which has more ski and snowboard resorts than any other, will provide bus service to 19 different areas areas under this new plan.
The “I Ski NY Bus” will make the trip to Hunter or Windham when the established city tour operators are not doing so.
The plan will also service Toronto and its avid ski and ride base. New York leaders feel this will expose Western New York resorts to the same transportation opportunity.
“We’re excited by this announcement because the ski areas of Western New York have so much to offer Canadians,” Holiday Valley’s Jane Eshbaugh told SnoCountry.com. “With the help of I Love New York tourism, we can really get the word out to attract more Canadians to ski and ride in Western New York. A ski bus makes the trip not only easy and affordable, but fun, too.”
In the Catskill and Adirondack regions, Thunder Ridge, Belleayre, Plattekill, Hunter, Windham, West, Gore, Whiteface, Titus and Catamount will be served.
In the Central New York region, Greek Peak, Toggenburg, Labrador and Song hope to see more city-dwellers who enjoy snow sports.
