Several Heartland Female Ski Clinics Through February
Over the next few weeks six Midwest ski areas are hosting women’s ski and snowboard clinics. It's a great chance to brush up before heading west on your spring trip.
Indiana’s Perfect North Slopes is hosting a learn to carve session for both skiers and riders Saturday, February 22, 10 a.m.-noon. Starting with the basics the two-hour clinics are taught by female instructors in small, supportive classes for intermediate and advanced. The cost is $45 for each clinic.
Ohio’s Mad River Mountain host’s Snow Angles every Sunday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Taught by female instructors the sessions are for all ski and rideability levels. It’s $35 per session and afterward they gather in the Loft for snacks, libations, and weekly giveaways.
Wilmot Mountain on the Illinois, Wisconsin border just above Chicago, offers Ski Girls Rock for both skier and snowboarders. The two-day program, for 7 through teens. It's being offered on February 22-23 and February 29-March 1, and the cost is $169, which includes lunch both days.
Michigan’s Boyne Highlands is hosting a women’s ski clinic with former U.S. Ski Team member Lisa Densmore February 29-March 1, for intermediate and advanced skiers. Included are trends in women’s ski gear, demo ski tryouts, skiing instruction followed by individual video analysis, a continental breakfast, and lunch, and a farewell après-ski party Sunday afternoon. The cost is $179 for Saturday's session and $149 for Sunday. Lift tickets are not included.
Mt. Brighton, near Detroit, is hosting Ski Girls Rock, February 29-March1. The program, for girls ages seven through teens, is for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. It runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and the cost is $219 for non-pass holder and $179 for pass holders.
