Power Pass Resorts Seek To Give 'Freedom To Change Your Mind'

The seven-mountain Power Pass consortium is streamlining what it takes to get on the hill with a new reloadable card and pick-a-day midweek season pass.

All purchases -- day tickets, rentals, lessons -- must be made online this season at Arizona Snowbowl, Purgatory, Ski Hesperus, Pajarito, Sipapu, Nordic Valley, and Brian Head.

Each transaction will be funneled through a single plastic card that each resort -- all owned by Mountain Capital Partners -- will be issuedupon the first online purchase of the season.

Known as the Purgatory Card, Brian Head Passport, Sipapu Card, and similar monikers, the card is reloadable with online buys all season long, and the card-holders can make changes themselves online. And it's your ticket: Scan as you enter the resort and head to the lift.

"We made the card so you can refund or exchange a purchase, change when you want to come, transfer or share with any other cardholder," said Mountain Capital Partners' Stacey Glazer. "We wanted to give people the freedom to change their minds."

Other innovations this season are a pre-ordering food-and-beverage app and the My Midweek pass. Pick a single day or up to five non-weekend days, pay a pro-rated price, and hit the slopes on those days all season, save the New Year's weekend. MCP hopes to have it up and available at all resorts this season.

The system-wide Power Pass continues on, giving skiers and riders unlimited access to all seven mountains, plus a variety of partner-pass free days -- and free for all 10 and under.

All resorts are aligning with local and state Covid safety restrictions, such as masking and social distancing, and plan to adapt if conditions change.
