Midwest snowboarders, get your shred on. The eighth annual So-Gnar Snowboard Camp Tour is hitting seven Heartland ski areas over the next few weeks. Five of the stops are scheduled over the holidays. The popular camps frequently fill up, don’t delay signing up.
Buck Hill, near the Twin Cities is first up Dec. 21-22, followed by Wisconsin’s Granite Peak, Dec. 27-28, Sunburst, Dec. 29-30, Tyrol Basin, Dec. 31-Jan. 1, and Illinois’ Chestnut Mountain, Jan. 2-3. Cannonsburg, near Grand Rapids, is the only Michigan ski area scheduled Jan. 4-5, and Ohio’s Mad River Mountain rounds out the Midwest tour Jan. 18-19.
Cost is $150, which includes private coaching and lunch for the two-day camps. Lift tickets, which you will need, are not included. They are extra.
The camps, sponsored by So-Gnar, bring custom made jib features and pro-rider coaches to each area. You get to ride with the pros, learn new tricks, style and creativity while having fun, and there are always lots of free swag giveaways. It is snowboard camp after all, what’s not to like?
New this year, So-Gnar and Echelon Snowboards have teamed up to create the Creative Forces Scholarship Program. It will allow one person from each SO-GNAR Snowboard Camp to win a free trip to camp, along with getting a free snowboard courtesy of Echelon. Sign up online to enter the contest.
