PGA Pro Ziat Joins Sugarbush Golf Club Staff
PGA professional RJ Ziats has joined the Sugarbush, Vt. Resort Golf Club staff. Ziats teaching career spans two decades in Vermont, Ohio, New York and Florida.
He is a competitive golfer at the top levels, including most recently, qualifying for the 2012 PGA National Championship. He has played in two PGA Tour Qualifying Schools, the Nationwide Tour, and the South American and Canadian tours.
He has taught at the Stratton Golf School in Southern Vermont; Tam O’Shanter Golf Club in Ohio; Muttontown Country Club in New York; and Belleair Country Club in Florida.
“Sugarbush is committed to improving the guest experience at out golf club,” said President Win Smith. “Bringing a proven professional kike RJ Ziats to work with Golf Director RJ Austin offers our guests the opportunity to learn from not one, but two, PGA-qualified instructors.”
The full course and Hogan’s pub are expected to open May 4. The Valley Rotary Club’s Father’s Day Tournament will be held June 17, while the Vermont State Women’s Golf Association Mid-Am Championship is Sept. 16-16. Membership and season passes are now on sale.
The resort’s par-71 course was designed by Trent Jones Sr. in 1962. The Club offers private instruction, group clinics, junior gold camps, women’s clinics, custom-club fitting, golf apparel, and equipment.
