November Means Lots Of Big Ski Shows Are Coming Your Way

Skiers and riders look to the fall ski shows to discover improvements ski areas have made during the off-season, talk with manufacturers’ reps, decide on their ski vacation and getaway plans, get deals on swapped or new equipment, and enjoy live entertainment. 

Here is SnoCountry’s guide to fall shows across the nation in November and December. Keep checking back as details will be added as they become available. 

Nov. 2-4: Portland SkiFever & Snowboard Show. Portland Expo Center, 2060 N. Marine Drive, Portland, Ore. Hours: Fri., 1-10 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: adults $13; juniors (6-12) $3; under 6 free. Features: Columbia Sportswear Fashion show, Rail Jam, Wine Chalet, Freeride show, Hot Dog Skier Lounge, and two-for-one lift ticket deals.

Nov. 2-4: Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo. Produced by BEWI Productions. 700 Fourteenth Street, Denver, Colo. Hours: Fri., noon-10 p.m., Sat., 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: adults $12, kids 12 and under free. Features: Equipment with discounts of up to 75 percent; Expo-only lodging deals and packages offered by 26 Colorado resorts. The Rocky Mountain Brew Fest returns: tickets are an additional $12 charge; $15 at the door.  

Nov. 2-4: Albany Ski and Snowboard Expo. Empire State Plaza, Albany, N.Y. Hours: Fri., 4-9 p.m., Sat., 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission: Adults $7 online, $8 at the door; kids 9 and under free with paid adult. $2 discount coupon available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts. Features: One of New York’s largest and longest-running winter sports shows; latest in equipment, fashion, destinations; Potter Brothers Swap Shop; I Ski NY lift ticket; dozens of prizes. 

Nov. 3-4: Sonoma County Winter Ski Fest. Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building, 1351 Maple Avenue, Santa Rosa, Calif., across from fairgrounds. Hours: Sat., 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Admission: Persons over 16, $4. Features: Swap and sale.

Nov. 3-4: Calgary Snow Show. New location: Spruce Meadows, 18011 Spruce Meadows Way SW, RR9, LCD8, Calgary, ON. Hours: Fri., 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sat., 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission: Adults $8; kids 12 and under free when accompanied by paid adult. Features: Ski Swap with more than $1.5 million of new and used equipment and savings of up to 80 percent; free parking. 

Nov. 3-4: Snowbomb Ski & Board Festival-San Francisco. Fort Mason Center, Marina Blvd., San Francisco, Calif. Admission: Adults $20 general entry. Features: Winter Sale with pre-season prices; over 100 resorts; wine tastings with over 50 wineries, Sat., 1-6 p.m.; beer tasting with over 30 breweries, Sun., noon-5 p.m.; free lift tickets China Peak and Dodge Ridge

Nov. 9-11: Boston Ski & Snowboard Expo. Produced by BEWI Productions. Seaport World Trade Center, 200 Seaport Blvd., Boston, Mass. Hours: Thurs. and Fri., 3-10 p.m., Sat., 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: Adults $12; kids 12 and under free; additional $2 discounts in Boston Globe. Features: World Slackline Federation World Championships, first time in U.S., with eight world-ranked pros; pre-season equipment, accessory, clothing sale; resorts offering show deals, live entertainment, interactive exhibits.  

Nov. 9-11: SnowJam/The San Diego Ski & Snowboard Expo. Del Mar Fairgrounds, O’Brien Hall, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Del Mar, Calif. Hours: Fri., 4-10 p.m., Sat., and Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: Adults $15 (includes free Mountain High lift ticket); kids under 13 free with paid adult. 

Nov. 10-11: Snowbomb Ski & Board Festival-Sacramento. Cal Expo Fairgrounds, Hall A & B, 1600 Exposition Blvd., Sacramento, Calif. Hours: Sat. 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Sun., 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission ranges from $20 (festival admission; Winter Sale access, free lift ticket); $40 (all of above plus unlimited wine or beer tasting); $60 (all of the above plus ski movie night ticket). Features: New and used equipment at the sale and swap. 

Nov. 15-18: Ski Dazzle’s Los Angeles Ski & Snowboard Expo. Los Angeles Convention Center, South Hall, 1201 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, Calif. Hours: Thurs. and Fri., 4-11 p.m., Sat. 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sun., noon-6 p.m. Admission: $20 which includes a buy- one-get-one-free super lift ticket; kids 6-12 $5; under six free. Features: Over 325 exhibitors, including over 20 retailer booths, free entertainment, win lift ticket and prizes, ski sale and swap. Also a wine and craft beer tasting for those over 21 for $20.

Nov. 16-18: Snowbomb Silicon Valley Ski & Snowboard Festival. Santa Clara Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road, San Jose, Calif. Hours: Sat. 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Sun., 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: General entry $20. Features: Sample wine from over 50 wineries Sat., and beers from over 30 breweries Sun. 

 Dec. 1-2: SnowJam/The Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Festival. Cashman Center, 850 N. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, Nev. Hours: Sat. and Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: $15 adults; kids under 12 free with paid adult.
