Northeast Oktoberfests, Festivals Celebrate Peak Foliage At Resorts

Hunter Mt. Octoberfest

Between a stellar fall foliage display and the timing for peak viewing along with classic Oktoberfest fun, the coming weekend, October 11-12, will be a perfect opportunity for a trip to a mountain resort to enjoy the explosion of color and some traditional German food and beverages.

Attitash Oktoberfest offers live, traditional Bavarian music from the world renowned King Ludwig's Band, dancing, Stein Hoisting and Keg Toss competitions for adults, kids' activities and games, authentic German food and the Biergarten tent featuring local and regional brewers. This year’s attending brewers will compete for the “People’s Favorite” annual award.

At Loon's White Mountain Oktoberfest get a taste of the Bavarian Alps in the White Mountains at this annual celebration of German food, drink and culture. Timed to coincide with peak foliage season, you'll enjoy beer, brats, and sauerkraut as you reconnect with old friends and make new ones. An oompah-band will provide the soundtrack to fun games like the stein-holding contest and keg toss.

Hunter Mountain Oktoberfest features authentic German and German-American entertainment in the beauty of the northern Catskills in autumn. The modern celebration of the harvest features plenty of vendors, free crafts for the kids, and much more. Free Admission makes it an affordable, fun time for all ages.

Lake Placid's Brewfest offers guests a chance to sample beers from across the country and talk to beer experts. The festivities will take place in the 1932 rink of the Lake Placid Olympic Center.

Sunday River Resort Fall Festival weekend hosts the North American Wife Carrying Championship and the first-ever New England Cornhole Championship, a bloody mary extravaganza, and a stellar lineup of live music.

The Sugarbush Family Oktoberfest has live music from Opa's Oomph Band, a beer garden from the Van Trapp brewery, a family-friendly Bavarian buffet and German games for the whole family.

Like most German-themed Oktoberfest events, the Mount Snow Oktoberfest will have plenty of beer, schnitzel and Oom-pah music; but throw in kids games, pumpkin painting, an apple sling shot and the famous “schnitzel toss” and you’ve got two days of fun for the whole family.

The Gore Mountain Harvest Fest includes live music, kids’ activities, a large array of vendors, and fall fun for whole family. Plan to take in the beauty of peak Adirondack foliage on a scenic Northwoods Gondola Skyride or helicopter excursion.

Join the fun at Mount Sunapee’s Fall Foliage Pig Roast and Barbeque, including aerial sky rides on the Sunapee Express, family games & activities with prizes, live music, giant inflatables for the kids, pumpkin carving, hay wagon rides and more. Take a Canopy Zip-Line Tour and see the foliage like you have never seen it before.
