New Fun At Vermont Resorts For Summer 2018

Warm weather visitors to Vermont will find a plethora of activities at its mountain resorts to discover what the green mountain state is all about. From golf, mountain biking, and disc golf to expanded music, event and dining options make exploring Vermont the perfect summer getaway.

Killington debuts its Woodward WreckTangle, an outdoor ninja obstacle challenge with nine different sections of unique and fun-filled obstacles to conquer. Complete with cargo nets, balance beams, rope swings and more.

Smugglers’ Notch guests will be delighted to try out activities like the life-sized pool table (soccer style), pickleball, and bocce. With new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities, families can learn about problem solving, engineering, and even nature.

Enjoy Bolton Valley’s Thursday night summer dinners featuring local, fresh ingredients paired with Vermont craft brews and the 18-hole disc golf social tournaments. Tournaments take place Thursdays and Sundays, with winners taking home some cash. 

After debuting a 9-hole Disc Golf course last summer, Magic is building the back nine to make Magic Mountain National one of the premier southern Vermont disc golf courses. Magic will also launch Summer Friday Movie Nights and Black Line Tavern’s Summer Music Series Saturday nights.

The Evolution Bike Park at Okemo opened its first trail from the summit last summer and is adding two more trails to the upper-mountain system in 2018.

Summer at Stratton brings a new line-up of live music. A new container bar and restaurant opens slopeside featuring craft brews, summer food favorites and lawn games including a dart and shuffleboard series. Stratton Golf School teams up with Bridgestone Golf Balls in a new digital fitting app that matches ball to golfer, adding yardage and accuracy.

Mount Snow brings a new live music festival to the Green Mountains, with the July 7 stop of the Angry Orchard: Rock the Roots Tour. This one-day festival of cider and music will feature big names such as Sublime with Rome, Dirty Heads, Lupe Fiasco, Pepper, and Matisyahu. This full-day experience includes the Angry Orchard Arcade and lawn games.

Coming soon to Suicide Six is the Elemental Bike Park, slated to open early July. In addition to approximately six miles of lift-served flow trails, two pump tracks, a strider park, and a skills development area are designed to build confidence and take riding to the next level.

Sugarbush is working on revamping its bike park under the new leadership of winter’s Terrain Park Manager, Trevor Borrelli. The Sugarbush Resort Golf Club is also working on a number of improvements including bunker renovation, Tee Sentry Wireless Systems and new gear in the pro shop.

Jay Peak is building two synthetic turf athletic fields to will host soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey tournaments and camps. The two FIFA-sized pitches will be complete by fall.

During the summer months, Burke transforms into a mountain biking mecca and outdoor adventure hub. Riders will notice a few roller upgrades on Roly Grail, some small touches and TLC in Black Forest, and a new drop landing on the last feature on Jester.The new landing is an exciting alteration to the trail making the drop now approachable for most rider abilities.

Stowe’s vibrant Spruce Peak Village Center continues to be a fan favorite among youth and adults alike. Experience the new craft beer garden, Friday Artisan Market, live music, and the delicious Old Mozo Taco Truck every weekend Thursday-Sunday through September 3.
