Nevada’s Mt. Rose has been busy over the summer making improvements for the upcoming season. Snowmaking capacity has increased by 50 percent on the lower mountain, trail work undertaken, and Main Lodge seating increased.
The Children’s/Rosebud’s teaching area, along with the Enchanted Forest, North Rim, larger sections of Galena, Around the World, and Switchback trails, now have full snowmaking coverage.
Trail expansion has occurred in the Show-off “first-timer” area with terrain added on the southside of the Flying Jenny conveyor lift. In addition, The Wild Horse Adventure Trail has been modified, Mustang and Bronco trails widened and “softened,” Around the World trail re-graded, widened and re-contoured, Powder Ridge thinned, and the Chutes have received additional hazard removal.
Guests at the Main Lodge will find an additional 250 seats off the upper level’s Mountain View Dining area. This expansion allows for private groups for parties and other functions.
Other facility enhancements include more web cams and improved slope access from lot 3.
