The abrupt end to the ski season, amid all the confusion, has prompted some Midwestern ski areas and resorts to push back the deadline for securing next season's annual pass at the best price point. Some have pushed the deadline to the end of this month, and others have pushed it back even further.

Michigan's Shanty Creek, Welch Village in Minnesota and Ohio's Snow Trails have all extended their deadline for obtaining the best pass price for the 2020/21 season to April 30. Shanty's current adult Super Pass is $349, and Welch's is $279. You can save 25-percent off Snow Trails standard adult pass priced at $435 for next season.

Lutsen Mountains and Big Snow Resort have pushed their deadlines into May. Lutsen's adult pass for next season is currently priced at $459 through May 15. Big Snow Resort, Michigan's UP that includes Indianhead and Blackjack, is offering 30-percent savings on their adult pass through the end of May. Their adult pass is priced at $369.

The combination season pass for Little Switzerland, Nordic Mountain, and The Rock, which are all grouped around Milwaukee, is currently $369 through August 31.

A couple of Wisconsin ski resorts have pushed their deadlines into September. Devils Head has extended the time to purchase their adult season pass at $299 through September 6, and Granite Peak has extended its deadline to buy an adult season pass for $399 through the end of September. Cascade Mountain is offering its Platinum Pass, direct access to the lifts, for $499 through October.

Vail's Epic Local Pass, which includes unlimited access to all of its Midwestern ski areas, eastern resorts and Colorado resorts Keystone, Breckenridge, and Crested Butte is currently on sale at $729. Individual season passes at their Heartland ski areas range in price from $319 to $539.

The Boyne Gold Pass is currently on sale for $765 and good for daily use all season at both Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands keys with no blackout dates. It also includes sister resort benefits and tubing and pool access at both Michigan resorts.
