Montana Ski Season Underway, Lift Ticket Deals Still Abound

A few Montana ski areas have already opened, and the rest follow in the next couple of weeks. Lift ticket deals are still available at several of the areas. Frequent skier cards, packs and punch cards can substantially help lower daily lift ticket costs.

Whitefish Mountain Resort, which has experienced back-to-back 400+ inch seasons, is scheduled to open Dec. 6. They offer a Frequent Skier Card, available through Dec. 24, for $50 that allows an adult to purchase a daily lift ticket for $52. Senior (60-65) and teen daily lift ticket with the card are $47. Daily adult lift tickets are $81 this coming season, senior and teens $70. Seniors 70+ are free.

Red Lodge Mountain has 6-Tix and 4-pack passes that allows four or six days of skiing anytime throughout the season. Individual cost for the 6-Tix adult $309, junior (13-18) $245 and child (6-12) $125. They can be reloaded anytime during the season. The 4-pack is $199, regardless of age, and can’t be reloaded.  Adult daily lift tickets are $67 this season. Opening day is tentatively set to take place Saturday, Nov. 23.

Montana Snowbowl is selling lift ticket coupons through Dec. 1 that save you $9 per lift ticket. They are good anytime during the season, transferable and you can buy as many as you like. An adult coupon is $41, student and senior coupons are $38 each and child (6-12) is $15.

Bridger Bowl, which plans to open Thanksgiving Weekend and the following weekend before the season opener on Dec. 7, has Frequency Cards available through Dec. 24. The cards are $65 upfront that allow you to purchase an adult lift ticket for $45 midweek and $53 weekends. An adult lift ticket is $63 this season.

Showdown has the Showup Card for $113 through Dec. 13, which provides three adult lift tickets that can be used anytime during the season and transferable. They only print 1,000 cards each season and normally sell out. An adult lift ticket is $47 this season, slated to start Dec. 14.

Great Divide offers a Half Price Passport for $49, which is transferable. The Passport, a 10-punch card, allows the holder to purchase a half-price lift ticket with each punch. Purchase as many Passports as you like. The daily adult lift ticket is $48. Great Divide is currently open.

Discovery, offers a package of five transferable lift tickets for $220. Adult daily lift tickets are $49 this winter. They have opened for the season.
