Montana Ski Resorts Hosting Season Ending Events; Lift/Lodging Deals
The ski season is winding down across Montana with the last day taking place at some resorts this weekend. Get out and enjoy some of the last skiing and riding of the season.
Whitefish Mountain Resort is hosting Winter Brewfestand the annual Dummy Derby Saturday, April 4, and the annual season-ending Pond Skim is scheduled Saturday, April 11. Awards are given for best costume (must wear one to participate), best crash and longest skim. More than 2,000 spectators have showed up in the past to watch this popular event.
They close after skiing and riding Sunday, April 12.Lift and lodging specials through the end of the season include; book two nights lodging and receive a third day and night free; starting at just $75 per person, per night the Hibernation House also includes a hot breakfast and hot tub access.
Bridger Bowl’s last day of skiing and riding will be April 5 with a Sunrise Service scheduled that day. The Point and Chute Film Festival takes place this Saturday, March 21, and the annual Dirt Bag Ball, a ski patrol fund raiser, is the following Saturday, March 28. Lift and lodging packages start from $69 per person, per night.
Red Lodge Mountain, closing April 5, has Super Saver Tickets available through season end. Pre-purchase lift tickets online and save up to 26-percent on day tickets. Lift and lodging packages in nearby Red Lodge start from $81 per person, based on double occupancy.
Big Sky Resort remains open through April 19 affording a little more time to enjoy those spring conditions. Dust off the go-go boots and short dresses as Big Sky hosts Whiskey A-Go-Go on April 11, featuring whiskey tastings from five Montana distilleries and a fun night with DJ 5 Star from 5- 8 p.m. in the Mountain Village plaza. The annual, spectator friendly Pond Skim takes place Saturday, April 18, with live music following at Whiskey Jacks. April lift and lodging packages offer 35 percent off at the Huntley Lodge and 30 percent off on select condos booked through central reservations. Tours of nearby Yellowstone National Park are also available, and this is an excellent time of year to tour the park.
