Minnesota Skiers/Riders Enticed By Sweet Lift Ticket Deals
Conditions are some of the best the Heartland has seen in the last few years, and Minnesota ski areas are enticing skiers and riders with some sweet lift ticket deals to get out and enjoy the great snow.
Mount Kato, in the south-central portion of the state, offers $15 lift tickets Monday and Tuesday after 4 p.m., and an all-day lift ticket is $22 on Wednesday. A Sunday night special after 4 p.m. is a $19 lift ticket and $19 rental package.
Among the ski areas grouped around the Twin Cities, Welch Village offers several online discounts. Print your lift ticket at home and you can save almost half-off on certain days. Printing you lift ticket at home will always save you $10 off the window price at the ski area. The print-at-home option costs $39. The window rate is $49 this season.
Afton Alps offers Family Value Days from 2 p.m. to close Feb.3, March 3 and 9-10. You get two lift tickets for $52, and additional family members can be added for $23 each. Rental equipment is half-price and one-hour beginner lessons are just $4 each.
Wild Mountain has Friends and Family Fun Days Jan. 26, Feb. 18 and 24, and March 2 and 10. Adult lift tickets are $33, child (6-12) $23, and rentals for $13.The Never Ending Lesson (skiers age eight and up, snowboarders age 12 and up) is free all day long. You can progress through as many stations as you’re able.
Buck Hill offers an Early Bird $20 lift ticket on weekends, 9 a.m.-noon, and Sunday night, 7:30-close, a $10 lift ticket. The Early Bird is $13 midweek and the weeknight lift ticket is $15.
Heading north, Spirit Mountain lowered lift ticket prices by up to 25-percent off last season’s rate and extended the hours of the half-day lift ticket from four to five hours. Check out the new Spirit Express II chairlift, a welcome change from the tired, old Express lift, and a new Grand Avenue Chalet is coming next winter.
Giants Ridge has $16 lift tickets and $16 ski rentals every Friday night throughout the season from 4-8 p.m. Midweek ski two days and spend a night starting from $86 per person.
Powder Ridge offers $15 lift tickets and $15 equipment rentals, skis or snowboard, Sunday and Wednesday nights, 4-9 p.m. College night is every Wednesday night when lift tickets and rental equipment are $15 each. Just show your college I.D.
There are all kinds of good reasons to get and enjoy winter without putting a huge dent in your wallet.
