Midwest Ski Shows Set For October Runs; Lots Of Deals, Fun
Winter can’t be far away in the Midwest. Ski and snowboard shows are taking place in Minneapolis, Chicago and Ontario this month.
The sixth annual Minnesota Ski & Snowboard Expo is at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., Oct. 18-20. Show hours are Friday and Saturday 10 a.m-9:30 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-7p.m.
Ski resorts from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan’s UP will be on hand as well as representatives from a number of Rocky Mountain resorts. Local retailers and manufacturing reps will be there, showcasing the latest gear. Show admission and parking are free.
“This is our fourth show at Mall of America, and we’re expecting several thousand skiers and snowboarders to come through the three-day show,” Bernie Weichsel, show organizer and head of BEWI Sports, told SnoCountry.com. “We still find people in this electronic age love to come to the shows. They can often find some great ticket or vacation deals through the resorts.”
Check out the trampoline show in the rotunda, which features the high-flying Skyriders, and the hula hoop contest presented by Keystone Resort to break a Guiness Book of World Records. Or, bring your hula hoop and become a part of it. The record currently stands at 637.
