Lift Ticket Deals Still Available At Many Montana Ski Areas


Most season pass sales have ended for Montana ski areas, but a number of lift ticket deals are still available. Some of the deals include transferable lift tickets or coupons and would make Christmas stocking stuffers. Check them out.

Big Sky Resort’s Frequent Sky Card is now available for $139, which allows 14 free days of skiing and riding Nov. 26-Dec. 2 and April 8-14, 2013, and half-price week Jan. 7-13, 2013. It offers you $20 off the regular season window rate any other time. It is not transferable. An adult daily lift ticket will be $89 this season, scheduled to begin Nov. 22.

Moonlight Basin, next door to Big Sky, is offering a Value Card for $59, which gives you your first day on the slopes free and April 8-14, 2013 is also free. Take $10 off the adult full day lift ticket price the rest of the season, and ski/ride for just $40 on the second Sunday of each month December through March. It also offers you a 20-percent discount on Moonlight lodging, base on availability, but it’s not transferable.

Whitefish Mountain Resort, scheduled to open Dec. 8, has a Frequent Skier Card, available through Dec. 24, which costs $50. It allows the holder to purchase daily lift tickets for $44 all season long. It’s not transferable. A daily lift pass this season will be $67.

Red Lodge Mountain Resort in southeastern Montana, popular with Heartland skiers from the Dakotas, Minnesota and Iowa, has its 6-TIX for $240 and 10-TIX for $365 now available. They allow you to ski/ride six or 10 times throughout the season, and both can be reloaded when you need more time on the slopes. It also gives you a five percent discount on many resort services. An adult daily lift ticket is $50 this season, which is scheduled to start Nov. 23.

Montana Snowbowl, scheduled to open Dec. 1, is selling lift ticket coupons through the same date that will save $8 off each ticket. They are good anytime throughout the season and transferable. An adult lift ticket is $43 this season and the coupon is $35 each. You can buy as many as you like. The same amount off applies to student and children tickets as well.

Showdown is bringing back the Showup Card, which is available for $96 through Dec. 6. It gives you three full day adult lift tickets that are transferable and good time throughout the season. An adult lift ticket is $38 this season, which represents a savings of $5 per ticket.

Discovery offers a package of five transferable lift tickets through Dec. 25 for $180 per 5-Pack. You can purchase as many as you like. Pass them out for Christmas gifts. Adult full-day lift tickets are $40 this season. They plan to open Nov. 22.

Great Divide Ski Area, which reopens this Saturday, offers the Half-Price Passport for $59, and it’s transferable. The Passport is a 10-punch card allows the holder to purchase a half-price lift ticket with each punch. There’s no daily use limit so 10 friends could get 10 half-price lift tickets the same day. Purchase as many as you like.
