Squaw Valley/Hank-deVre

Families who make the trip up to north Lake Tahoe can save on lift ticket costs if they stay at the Village at Squaw Valley, Calif.

Any two-night stay in a one-bedroom condominium at a village property includes two free children’s lift tickets at Squaw Valley or neighboring Alpine Meadows. The condos include a master bedroom with king sized bed, and room for a couple of youngsters on a living room couch-pullout bed.

For $170 a night at the condo, children ages 5 to 12 get free passes for both areas, and a chance to check out Squaw’s SnoVentures Activity zone with mine-snowmobiles and tubing – among many other attractions in the surrounding area.

The kids-ski-free deal is but one of a number of stay-and-ski/ride packages that The Village at Squaw Valley offers for the season, including:

•    Twenty-percent off lodging between Sunday and Thursday all season, beginning Jan. 6. Prices start at $162 per person per night.

•    A four-night stay at a standard room at The Village begins at $132 per person per night, a 30 percent on lodging that extends to lift ticket savings for three days, too.

•    Romantic types can book a minimum of two nights for $109, and get two free massages, too.
