It's Snowing: California Resorts Set To Open
After several seasons of below-average snow, preseason storms have heartened Californian skiers and snowboarders and prompted resorts in the Golden Bear State to set opening dates.
The white stuff has begun falling in The Sierra, stoking optimism for better early-season conditions than have been experienced in the past couple of seasons. In many areas, temperatures have dipped low enough to churn up the snowmaking guns – further solidifying opening dates.
The following are opening dates for two dozen California resorts, with the caveat that more snow may allow lifts to run earlier – and vice versa. Skiers and riders should check our snow conditions reports here at SnoCountry.com for the latest information:
Nov. 13: Mammoth
Nov. 22: Kirkwood
Nov. 26: Squaw Valley
Nov. 28: Mountain High
Dec. 6: Sugar Bowl
Dec. 10: Mt. Shasta
Dec. 18: Donner Ski Ranch
