It's Show Time: Ski Show Line Up

As fall settles in across the nation and skiers and riders start thinking about getting back to the slopes, fall ski shows are a great way to tap into the excitement of the coming season. Skiers and snowboarders in the know make early plans to attend the shows to get the best buys and discover what’s hot on the slopes this season.

 

Here is SnoCountry.com’s guide to fall shows across the nation. Keep checking back as more details will be added as they become available. 

Toronto Snow Show

Oct. 13-16: Toronto Snow Show, International Centre, Hall 5, 6900 Airport Road, Mississauga, ON, Hours: Thurs., 3-10 p.m., Fri., Noon-10 p.m., Sat., 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: Adults $18; Juniors (11-17) and Seniors (65 plus) $10; children (10 and under) free with an adult; Family Pass (2 adults + 2 children) $45.

Highlights: Buy one, get one free lift ticket with admission; Rockstar Pro-AM Rail Jam; Burton Riglet Park, Evovle Skate Park; Meet X-Games, slopestyle and big air legend Phil Casabon; Live programming with information about gear, resorts, and atheltes as well as interviews led by Ski TV hosts and former FIS Alpine World Cup Stars Larisa Yurkiw and Edith Rozsa.

Oct. 21-22:Explore Minnesota Slopes Ski & Snowboard Expo. Mall of America, 60 E. Broadway, Bloomington, Minn. No admission or parking fees.

Highlights: Minnesota Winter Olympians will be on hand to greet fans and future medalists at the Minnesota Olympic Jumpers booth. Buck Hill will display its new synthetic turf that they are using to create year-round fun on the slopes.

Oct. 21-23:Windy City Ski and Snowboard Show, Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center, 1551 N. Thoreau Drive, Schaumburg, Ill. Hours: Fri., 3-10 p.m.; Sat., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sun., 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Adult admission $12; kids under 12 are free. Free parking.



Highlights: Top local retailers, resorts, manufacturers’ reps, ski and snowboard clubs, plus a huge Super Sale run by the Southern Region Ski Patrol. Prizes, lift ticket giveaways; free Schaumburg Woodfield Trolley service.

Oct. 22-23: Ottawa Ski, Snowboard and Travel Show, Ernst & Young Centre, Hall 3, 4899 Uplands Drive at Airport Parkway, Ottawa, ON.  Hours: Sat., and Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free admission; $8 on site parking. 

Highlights: Over 100 U.S. and Canadian ski and snowboard-related travel destinations, equipment and clothing (discounts from 50-70 percent), lifestyle information and related products and services, at-show-only special offers, plus ski/snowboard swap and sale. New this year, a Manufacturer’s Row showcasing 2017 skis from Head, Dynastar, Fischer, Elan, and Nordica.

Oct. 29-30: Snowbomb San Jose Ski & Snowboard Festival, San Jose, McEnery Convention Center - South Hall, 150 W San Carlos St., San Jose, Calif. Hours: Sat. and Sun.,10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: General entry free.

Highlights: Powder Pass $25 (admission, one free lift ticket to Bear Valley, China Peak, Sierra-at-Tahoe). VIP Pass $50 (admission, free lift ticket to Powder Pass areas, unlimited Sat. wine or Sun. beer tasting, buy one-get one free Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows).

Colorado Ski & snowboard Expo

Nov. 4-6: Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo, Colorado Convention Center, Hall F, 700 Fourteenth Street, Denver, Colo. Hours: Fri., Noon-10 p.m., Sat., 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: adults $15, kids 12 and under free; additional $3 discount with coupon.  Buy tickets online or at door.

Highlights: Colorado Ski & Golf ski and snowboard with discounts 40-75 percent off last season’s equipment, Expo-only lodging deals and packages, Rocky Mountain Beer Garden, Mountain Activity Center and Epic Adventure Park.


Nov. 4-6: Northeast Ski & Craft Beer Showcase (Formerly Albany Ski & Snowboard Expo), Empire State Plaza, Albany, N.Y. Hours: Fri., 4-9 p.m., Sat., 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission: Adults $8 online, $10 at the door; kids under 10 free with paid adult. $5 per vehicle in Empire State Plaza parking garage.

Highlights: The finest mountain resorts across the Northeast and beyond; alongside an expansion of its popular Craft Beer Garden, which was successfully introduced during the 2015 show and will for the first time be offered all three days of the event.

Nov. 4-6: Portland SkiFever & Snowboard Show, Portland Expo Center, 2060 N. Marine Drive, Portland, Ore. Hours: Fri., 1-10 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Sun., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission: adults $14; juniors (6-12) $3; under 6 free. Discounts online.

Hours: Fri., 3-11 p.m., Sat. 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sun., noon-6 p.m. Admission: Adults $20 which includes a free or 2-for1 lift ticket or beginner lesson; kids 6-12 $5; under six free (no lift ticket offer for kids 6-12). 

Highlights: 250 exhibitor and sponsor booths; $6 million equipment and clothing sale; gamily entertainment; ski lessons, dual zipline.
