It's Holiday Time at Vermont Resorts; Lots Of Vacation Week Fun
Once all the presents are opened, it’s time to hit the slopes and put all those new cozy sweaters and fleeces to good use. Vermont resorts have fun in the mountains planned for the Christmas vacation week.
Ski and ride Christmas day with Calvin the Catamount and Friends at Okemo. The fuzzy mascot and his merry crew will be cruising the slopes. He's one fast cat, so catch him if you can.
The Sun Mountain Sessions Snowboard Camp is back at Bromley Dec. 26 – 27. This two-day boardfest features coaching, contests and giveaways. Ride with these guys for two days, and shred everything. Ages 12-18.
Adults will enjoy the Sugarbush Food and Wine Sampler, Dec. 28, 6–8 p.m. at Allyn's Lodge, Lincoln Peak. Take an evening cat ride to the top of Gadd Peak for a celebration of food and wine. The evening features a Northern Italy inspired meal paired with wines from several featured vineyards.
For the little rippers, Mount Snow’s Grommet Jam #1, Dec. 28, is the first of three events for 12 and under skiers and riders. The series is a great way for kids to get out and learn a few things. Coaches and instructors from the Training Center and Ski & Snowboard School will help out little jibbers in the Grommet park at Carinthia in the morning and a fun park competition with an awards ceremony in the afternoon.
Smugglers’ Notch’s New Years’ celebration Dec. 31 for families includes a pirate party and a family dance party in the resort’s indoor FunZone filled with games, giant inflatables, indoor mini golf and more. Families will also enjoy a bonfire, torchlight parade and fireworks. The resort’s nursery hosts a Kids’ Night Out program for ages 3-11, giving parents flexibility to share a special dinner or evening cocktail.
