The East’s biggest ski party of the year is coming up this weekend, with a lineup of the world’s fastest female racers putting on a show for the Audi FIS World Cup and the Beast of the East welcoming thousands of fans to this not-to-miss festival.

The Xfinity Killington Cup events begin on Friday, November 24 with the festival village, athlete bib presentation, live music, fireworks and more. The party rolls on through the weekend with Giant Slalom races followed by a Dispatch concert on Saturday and Slalom races on Sunday.

You can bet there'll be Mikaela fans this year. (Killington Resort)

The 2016 event broke attendance records and sent a message loud and clear: Northeast fans are eager to see the world's best racers and are proud of our skiing heritage.

Like the 2016 event, general admission is free, and viewing areas are located all around the base of the Superstar Trail and adjacent to the race course. Two video boards will provide top-to-bottom race coverage while approximately 35 percent of the course will be visible from these areas. A ticket is not required to access free viewing areas.

Expect to be outside in all kinds of Vermont weather and dress accordingly. Time to break out the puffy coat and warm boots.

The first race each day on Saturday and Sunday has been pushed back to start at 10:00 a.m., but arrive early to avoid lines and get a good viewing spot.

Killington is encouraging everyone to only bring what's absolutely necessary with you to the venue, so leave bags at home if at all possible. There will be a bag search at the entrance and those without bags get into the action sooner.

Shuttles begin at 6:30 a.m. and they are your best bet to avoid parking hassles. Killington has promised there’ll be more busses and bathrooms this year to make the necessities easier for everyone. If you’re driving in on Saturday or Sunday, the easiest parking will be at Pico (driving east on route 4) or the Skyeship lot (driving west on route 4). Check here for a full shuttle schedule.

The World Cup Expo Village will feature over 40 unique sponsors, ranging from artisan Vermont craft and food vendors to the latest ski industry hardware and technology companies.
