Indiana’s Perfect North, Missouri’s Hidden Valley Make Improvements

Perfect North SlopesTwo of the Heartland’s more southern ski areas, Perfect North Slopes, along the Indiana/Kentucky border near Cincinnati, and Hidden Valley, southwest of St. Louis, are making some major improvements for the coming season.

Both areas not only draw from nearby local populations, but also draw significant numbers of snowsports enthusiasts from below the Mason-Dixon Line with their locations.

Perfect North, home area for Olympic free-style skier Nick Goepper, has significantly redesigned and expanded its beginner area and added an additional Magic Carpet lift. They also expanded the Jam Session terrain park and upgraded the tubing area with new lighting. Access to the main lodge area has been improved with automatic doors and additional paved parking areas have also been added. A significant upgrade in snowboard rental equipment has also taken place. A nice plus for those new to the sport is that a free lesson is offered to all first time skiers and riders with the purchase of a lift ticket.

Hidden Valley has added a new double chairlift in its beginner area, which will allow them to experience riding a chairlift before moving over to harder terrain. It will also increase uphill capacity and offer easier access to all novice terrain. The resort is also adding a rope tow in the Badland Terrain Park, which will allow those using the park to stay in the park with quicker uphill capacity.
