‘Get Outfitted’: Colorado Online Startup Rents Clothing, Skis, Boards And Delivers To Hotels

GetOutfitted is online startupFor many, packing for a ski vacation is a pain. So is the value of buying gear to use it for just a week or two each year.

A Colorado-based startup is looking to reduce those hassles with an online rental service for clothing and accessories.

Whether just a warmer parka, clothing outfit or a package of everything you need to get on the slopes, they can be found through GetOutfitted.com, of Colorado Springs.

Vacationing skiers and snowboarders can go onto the website, order and pay for what they want to wear and have it delivered to their hotel. At the end of their stay, they pack the clothes in a pre-paid return mailer bag and drop it off at the front desk or a mail box.

Rental packages are for apparel and accessories only. Premium packages for men's and women's full outfits are $135, while standard packages are $90. Junior packages are $54 and youth, $45. All are for 3-days. Ski or snowboard packages range from $45 to $96.

GetOutfitted also has base layers but they have to be purchased outright. The apparel and accessories come from major snowsports manufacturers – for instance, jackets are from Marmot, Burton and Obermeyer, to name just a few – and rental prices vary according to the maker’s pricing. Group discounts and free trip leader outfit offered, too.

For skis or snowboards, a ski tech delivers the equipment to a visitor’s hotel and fits them to customers’ boots.

These days, a few other winter clothing rentals -- both online and through retail outlets -- can be found around the West, such as Mountain Threads in Golden.
