Over the next few weeks, seven Midwest ski areas are hosting women’s ski and snowboard clinics. Three ski areas are located in Minnesota, two in Ohio, and one each in Missouri and South Dakota. A chance to learn a new winter sport or brush up on your technique before a western spring trip, or just enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded women each week during ski season.

Terry Peak in South Dakota's Black Hills offers a six-week women's only ski program taught by women that takes place on Thursdays. The cost is $192 that does not include lift or rentals, which can be added; lift tickets $167 and rentals $112. Both are good for the day. Once the morning lesson has concluded, spend the afternoon on the slopes.

Giants Ridge in northern Minnesota is offering the new Ride Like A Girl an afternoon of skiing or boarding instruction and camaraderie taught by women. It's for those that have years of experience on the slopes. Hors d'oeuvres in the Burnt Onion afterward. The cost is $250 without a season pass.

Afton Alps, near the Twin Cities, has a three-week lesson program designed for women by women. Working in small groups with certified instruction you will be matched with your ability level, from beginner to advance. Available Thursday and Sunday. The cost is $349, which includes lift tickets and rentals.

Wild Mountain, also near the Twin Cities, offers a six-week skiing or snowboarding instruction program on Friday mornings called Women of Wild, taught by female instructors. It's for all ability levels. The cost is $150, and lift and rentals if needed are extra.

Ohio's Mad River Mountain offers their longtime signature all-women ski and ride instructional/social program Snow Angels for women of all ability levels. The cost for the eight-week program is $560, which includes lift tickets and rentals.

Boston Mills/Brandywine, located near Cleveland, offers Women’s Snow Discovery a signature six-week lesson program taught by women. All ability levels are welcome. The cost is $414, which includes lift tickets and rental equipment if needed.

Missouri's Hidden Valley, near St. Louis, offers Women's Wednesdays, a three-week program for all ability levels that build on basic skills. The cost is $225, which includes lift tickets, equipment rental, and a helmet.
