Father’s Day is Sunday, June 16. Let him know he’s appreciated by celebrating his day at a ski resort. Here’s a sampling of how resorts can make it fun and easy.

Mammoth Mountain’s Sierra Star Golf Course lets dads golf free when you purchase a round of golf for yourself. The golf course is 8,000 feet above sea level, making it the highest course in California. Mountain views, pine and fir tree-lined fairways, and streams.

 

Indulge in the Father’s Day Brunch Buffet at Wyoming’s Grand Targhee Branding Iron June 16, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dads ride the lift for free; other adults are $22 per and kids under 12 are $12. Reservations are strongly suggested.

 

Snowbird celebrates dad all weekend long, June 15 and 16, at their fifth annual Brewfest from 11 a.m.-7p.m. Nine local breweries are featured, including Red Rocks, Moab and Roosters. There also will be food stations Saturday and a Father’s Day BBQ Sunday on the Plaza Deck. There is no charge for the aerial tram; BBQ tickets are $21.95 adults; kids 6-12 $14.95 with 5 and under free. Live music is featured both days and all of Snowbird’s summer activities – alpine slide, ropes courses, climbing well and others - will be open.

 

New Mexico’s Angel Fire Resort is honoring dad with a selection of activities on the Country Club lawn, followed by a BBQ picnic lunch. There’s a putting tournament from 1-5 p.m.; $15 entry fee. The lunch, featuring BBQ ribs and chicken, corn on the cob, and cole slaw, is $25 per person for adults, half price for kids under 12 from 2-5 p.m.

 

Take dad to Michigan’s Boyne Highlands or Boyne Mountain where you can give him the gift of “flight” on the areas’ zipline, Friday June 14-June 16 at no cost. Choose from the Zipline Adventure Tour or the Twin Zip Ride when accompanied by one or more paying family members. Reservations required for the Zipline Adventure Tours.

 

Blue Mountain Ski Area & Resort in Pennsylvania’s Poconos Mountains, is honoring dad noon -7 p.m. at the Summit Lodge. Lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy: live music, games. Petting zoo, and dad-focused vendors. There’s a special gift waiting for dad too.

 

Okemo’s Adventure Zone is a free zone for dad June 16, with the accompaniment of one or more kids. Choose from among the mountain coaster, zipline tour, big air bag, bungee trampoline and Segway transport tours. Spend an hour or the day.

 

New Hampshire’s Wildcat Mountain in the Mount Washington Valley invites dads to ride the scenic gondola for free (one or more ticketed family members must accompany him). The enclosed four-person gondola offers views of Mt. Washington and the Presidential Range. Dads get a half-price ticket to attractions at Attitash Mountain if accompanied by a paid ticket family members. Enjoy activities like the mountain coaster, mountain biking, trampoline, airbag jump and slacklines.
