Eastern Ski/Ride Season Hitting Peak; Wisp Masters Mountain
We are reaching the crescendo of the ski and ride season as late January turns into February and the popular Presidents Week holiday in mid-month. Resorts are multi-tasking as operation departments continue to pile up the snow and events departments nail down logistics.
At Wisp Resort in western Maryland, the Saturday morning First Tracks continues into March. Season pass holders and multi-day ticket holders will get the country club treatment with sole access to Chairs 2 and 3 beginning at 7:30 a.m.
On Wednesdays in February, catch the Bud Light Concert Series in Whispers Bar in the main lodge. Recover from that, and you can get ready for NASTAR racing each Sunday during the month.
Subaru Master the Mountain comes up Feb. 9-10 at Wisp, offering mini ski and ride lessons from certified instructors, followed by hot beverages.
The Maryland Open will be held Feb. 23 in the Pro Park. Here’s where you can throw down in an open format on the rails and in the terrain park. The top skiers and riders in the mid-Atlantic region will be crowned.
