Tommy Bartlett

Central Wisconsin offers mountain-like scenery at Devils Lake State Park, the popular Wisconsin Dells and the long running Tommy Bartlett Water Ski Show. Devils Head Resort, just down the road, is a great place to stay.

Wisconsin Dells, just a few miles north of the Devil's Head, is one of the top vacation spots around the Great Lakes. Spectacular natural scenery and whole host of attractions for the family like waterslides, miniature golf, amusement parks, and museums make it one of the top summer vacation spots in the Heartland

Devils Head is tucked under a bluff of the Devil’s Crown that extends from the nearby state park, and offers a natural, comfortable setting away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded Dells. It’s only four miles from Devil’s Lake State Park and less than a half-hour to Wisconsin Dells. It makes a good central location and offers some of the best mountain golf in the state and fine dining. It's a top Wisconsin ski and snowboard destination in the winter.

Packages, which include meals, overnight lodging and two days of golf, start from $169 midweek and $198 weekends, based on per person, per night, double occupancy.  An overnight stay and a round of twilight golf, Sunday through Thursday, starts from $59 per person, double occupancy.

Devil’s Lake State Park, with sheer cliffs rising over 500 feet above the lake offers some of the finest views between the Appalachians and Rocky Mountains. It’s the Badger State’s most popular park, attracting over a million visitors per year, and the majority is in summer and fall. Both hiking and mountain bike trails abound throughout the park. It’s internationally known for rock climbing on the cliffs. The rim trails along the cliff offer spectacular vistas of the Baraboo Valley, Devil’s Lake, and distant Wisconsin Lake.

One of the top attractions, not to be missed, is the Tommy Bartlett Water Ski Show in the Dells. The long running show, now in its 60th year, was recently featured on NBC’s Rock Center with Brian Williams.  Also on your agenda should be a boat tour of the upper and lower Dells on the Wisconsin River, a beautiful natural attraction where towering sandstone cliffs line the river banks. Guides recount the colorful history and legends of the area.
