Take a Girls’ Time Out and hit the slopes at Stratton. The Girls’ Time Out Snowboard Camp, January 2-4, 2015 and January 30 - February 1, 2015, is a women-only, two-day camp designed by Stratton’s female riders to make fearless riders of every woman.
In two daily sessions, riders will get personalized instruction to improve everything from laying down turns to advanced technique to conquering new types of terrain. Riders age 18 and over of every ability are welcome.
For $359 including taxes, participants get two days of on-snow coaching from Stratton’s best female snowboard instructors, Sports Center admission, a welcome reception with hors d’oeurves on Friday night, daily breakfast buffet and lunch vouchers, board tunes and tuning demos, and evening events.
“For me, I always learn better in a group environment,” Stratton’s Myra Foster told SnoCountry.com. “The camaraderie and coaching allow you to test yourself in a supportive environment.”
When you sign up for camp, the coaches work with you to get to know you and your riding style to make the most of your camp experience. “If it's trees you want to check out, the coaches work on teaching technique and mind set, and the other women in the group are your own personal cheering section,” Foster told us.“After the first day you feel confident, and after the second day, you’ve got a totally new perspective.”
The coaches help you understand technique and how to apply it in different situations, whether it’s trees, steeps, or powder. After camp, you have the ability to really enjoy your snowboarding experiences.”
Camp attendees also get up to 30 percent discounts in the Stratton Village, a Burton gift bag with Burton swag, and can enter for a Burton Board giveaway. You’ll also walk away with tools and tips you can take to any and every hill and a maybe a few new riding buddies.
Foster added that after past camps, many participants were looking to hook up and go riding with other campers, so Stratton is offering a two-day Girls' Time Out Reunion Camp, Mar 28 - 29, 2015. All attendees from the past three seasons will be invited back to shred. Catch up with your friends and use the skills you’ve learned at a previous camp and have been practicing all season. This weekend is designed to strengthen your riding skills and solidify your new friendships forged at Stratton.
