With a couple of ski and snowboard resorts already open for the 2019-2020 season, organizers of the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo have moved the event up on the calendar.

In its 28th year, the Expo will settle in at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver for a three-day run, Oct. 25-27.

Admission to the ski show is $15 for adults, with kids 12 and under free. Ticket includes a $10 gift card, and a chance to win a $1,000 gift certificate at sponsor Sun & Ski Sports shops, or an Ikon Pass.

Some three dozen ski and snowboard brand-name equipment sellers fill the convention hall with discounted items that can be purchased right there by Expo entrants. The cost of equipment – skis, snowboards, boots, outerwear, and clothing for children and adults – will have discounts as deep as 70%.

In addition, another two dozen ski and snowboard resorts across the West will have booths with information on their mountains, plus discounted season passes, lift tickets, lodging, and lesson packages. And multi-resort season pass companies will be on hand.

In between cruising the booths and checking out the equipment, attendees can watch youngsters can try their skill at a climbing wall and a high-ropes course – or the whole family can test its readiness for the season with flexibility and strength training on a fitness challenge course.

A regular feature in recent years has been a first-timer center, aimed for the never-evers who are thinking about taking up the sport. Colorado Ski Country USA will layout deals at its resorts for equipment, lessons, and tickets – and often a season pass once three days' of instruction is done. There will also be an artificial surface kid's slope to try out.
