Crystal Mt. St. Patrick's Day

One of the top family resorts in the Heartland, Crystal Mountain, has a great lineup of events scheduled throughout the month of March. There’s something for everybody to enjoy, especially families.

It kicks off with Mardi Gras on the Mountain Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2. A DJ party party on the deck runs from 12-4 p.m. with music, beads and face painting. A costume contest is at 3 p.m. with the top male and female crowned King/Queen of the Mountain. Both win a 2013/14 season pass. A Cajun dinner will be held in Wild Tomato and Thistle Pub & Grille, and then the party spills over into the Vista Lounge. Drink specials for those in costume.

Friday, March 15, is 5-for-$50. Grab five friends and head for Crystal. You can’t beat an all-mountain $10 lift ticket.

The Teddy Knape Film Festival and Spring Luau Festival take place the weekend of March 15-16. In addition to all the entertaining films that will be shown the slopes will be busy on Saturday with the Cardboard Classic, On Slope Kayak Race and Slush Cup. Luau food and drink will be served on the deck. It’s a good spectator event.

Sunday, March 17, Crystal celebrates St. Patrick’s Day. Plenty of green beer will be available, and skiers and boarders dressed in costume will receive $10 off on their lift ticket.

Saturday, March 23, is the resort’s Maple Syrup Festival, which is a sweet time, and Saturday, March 30, the great Easter Egg-stravaganza is held. The hunt begins at 10 a.m.

Stay two nights during March and April with the Unlimited Ski & Ride lodging package and get a third night free on selected dates. The package starts from $149 per adult, per night. You can start skiing or riding the night of arrival.

Thinking of a western ski trip, SnoCountry Vacations' Deal of the Week offers weekly specials on lift and lodging deals to more than 35 winter western destinations across the U.S. and Canada.
